Who We Are
Pax, Prosperitas, et Aequalitas
The Global Youth Commission (GYC) was founded in 2024 to provide young people with a platform to explore important social, economic, political, environmental, technological, and global issues and to develop meaningful ideas for addressing them.
The Commission brings together student commissioners who are interested in research, public policy, leadership, and community development. Through research projects, policy briefs, essays, and other publications, students are encouraged to examine real-world challenges and share informed perspectives on issues affecting their communities and the wider world.
An important part of the Commission’s work is the development and publication of student-created policy and program proposals. Commissioners and other participating students are encouraged not only to identify problems, but also to propose practical solutions, new policies, community initiatives, and programs that could be implemented online or offline at the local, national, or international level.
The Global Youth Commission also seeks to expand meaningful opportunities for young people around the world to participate in research, service, leadership, cultural exchange, and international collaboration. By connecting students across countries and encouraging them to turn ideas into action, the Commission hopes to help develop a new generation of informed, responsible, and globally minded leaders.
At the heart of our work are the values of “Peace, Prosperity, and Equality.” We seek to promote these values among young people and adults alike while encouraging students to consider how research, policy, leadership, and practical action can contribute to stronger communities and a better future.
